The fork shaft on my woom bike is loose/there's play in the front wheel. What can I do?

Nothing is more important to us than the safety of your child.
Unfortunately, we have become aware that in a small number of bikes from certain product series the shaft of the fork can become loose. However, so far this has only happened in a few isolated cases. This problem only concerns woom 4, woom 5 and woom 6 bikes with height-adjustable Vario stems(see illustration) sold from September 2018.
The only models affected are bikes which are part of the ORIGINAL series. The new woom OFF mountain bikes are not affected.
In order to prevent this problem from occurring, we kindly ask all affected customers to attach an easy-to-install nut and bolt to the bike(see instructions).
We would like to emphasise that this is purely a precautionary measure which we are taking in order to eliminate any risk resulting from the fork's shaft becoming loose. Please take a couple of minutes to attach the bolt and nut before your child next uses the bike.
If you bought your bike from our online shop you will automatically receive the bolt and nut from us by post. All other clients can pick up the relevant bolt and nut from their nearest woom retailer and have it installed at the shop.
If you have already mounted an original woom fender on your bike's front wheel, you do not need to do anything – the bolt used to hold the fender fulfils the same purpose as the bolt we will send you.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with our customer service team by sending an email to woom@woom.com or calling +43 2243 23923. We will be happy to help.
Alternatively, you can visit your nearest woom retailer. All our retailers are aware of the problem and will be happy to help you.
