What's the purpose of the green brake lever?

The rear brake lever and brake pads on our balance bikes and smaller pedal bikes are green. This helps your child to identify which brake they are using.

It also prevents any mix-ups between the front and rear brake on models with both brakes.

  • The green brake lever on the right stops the rear wheel.
  • The black brake lever on the left stops the front wheel.

The woom ORIGINAL 1 – our smallest balance bike – only has one brake. The single brake is green for a reason:

Kids will quickly learn that the green lever works for the rear brake. When transitioning to a bigger bike with two brake levers, they'll already be familiar with the rear brake and intuitively know which lever does what.
